Installing TaskMerlin
Introduction
This section provides instructions for installing and configuring
TaskMerlin. To check that TaskMerlin will run on your PC, see the System Requirements
Installing the TaskMerlin Evaluation Edition
Download the latest release update,
run the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install TaskMerlin on your PC and evaluate TaskMerlin for 30 days.
Installing the TaskMerlin Personal Edition
Purchase a TaskMerlin Personal Edition license, store the
license key details in a safe place, and enter them into TaskMerlin using one of the following methods:
- Run TaskMerlin and, from the startup evaluation window, click on the
Enter License Key button to open the Enter License Key dialog window.
Enter your license details and press OK. It is recommended that you use the clipboard
copy/paste functions to transfer your license details into TaskMerlin.
- From the TaskMerlin main screen, click on the Help menu and select the
About TaskMerlin menu option to open the About Interfathom TaskMerlin dialog window.
Click on the License tab and then click on the Enter License Information button to
open the Enter License Key dialog window.
Enter your details and press OK.
Your license information will subsequently appear in the About Box dialog window.
The latest TaskMerlin minor update for your purchased version (e.g.,
Version 5)
can be downloaded at no additional cost. If you download and install a TaskMerlin minor update,
it will automatically use your current license details. A copy of your database will be saved in the
event that a database upgrade is required.
Installing the TaskMerlin Professional Edition
Purchase a TaskMerlin Professional Edition license
for each computer you wish to install TaskMerlin on and store the
license key details in a safe place. Install TaskMerlin on each
computer and enter your license details into TaskMerlin using one of the following methods:
- Run TaskMerlin and, from the startup evaluation window, click on the
Enter License Key button to open the Enter License Key dialog window.
Enter your license details and press OK. It is recommended that you use the clipboard
copy/paste functions to transfer your license details into TaskMerlin.
- From the TaskMerlin main screen, click on the Help menu and select the
About TaskMerlin menu option to open the About Interfathom TaskMerlin dialog window.
Click on the License tab and then click on the Enter License Information button to
open the Enter License Key dialog window.
Enter your details and press OK.
Your license information will subsequently appear in the About Box dialog window.

access a shared database.

Uninstalling TaskMerlin
To uninstall TaskMerlin, follow the steps below:
- Click on the Start button and select "Control Panel";
- Select "Uninstall a Program", "Programs and Features", or "Add/Remove Programs";
- Locate "Interfathom TaskMerlin" in the program list and click "Uninstall".
Setup File Information
The downloaded setup program (named TMSetup_[version].exe or TaskMerlinSetup.exe) is
a single self-extracting executable. If you wish to extract the MSI setup file, you can open
a command prompt, change to your download folder and type the following:
TaskMerlinSetup.exe /extract "[temporary_pathname]"
This will extract one file named Setup.msi which can also be run to install TaskMerlin.
Digital Signature
Our software is digitally signed using a Code Signing Certificate issued by
Comodo Certificate Authority. This verifies that the software was built by Interfathom and
has not been altered or corrupted since being signed.
