Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)
If you are using Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 or Windows XP (Service Pack 2), MDAC will already be installed.
Only install MDAC, below, if you are using an earlier version of Windows.
Installing MDAC
- Click on
Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1
- Click on the Continue button (to perform a Windows validation)
- Click on the Download button
- Click on the Save button and save the file MDAC_TYP.EXE to a local directory, such as C:\Temp
- Run MDAC_TYP.EXE from the saved location and follow the instructions it provides
About MDAC
What is MDAC?
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is a component of Windows created
by Microsoft which is used for database access. In order to operate, TaskMerlin
requires MDAC Version 2.6 or later to be installed on your machine. If you are
using Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP (Service Pack 2), MDAC will already be installed.
Check to see if you have MDAC installed
If MDAC is not installed on your PC, you will receive the following message
when you run the TaskMerlin setup.
TaskMerlin requires Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)
version 2.6 or later. Please install MDAC and run this setup again. MDAC can be obtained
via the Interfathom website. Would you like to do this now?
MDAC can be installed from the Microsoft website and is approximately 6 MB in size. Refer to the instructions
at the top of this page for more details.
